This is an addendum to the January edition of the NY City / Long Island "ehappenings" Section newsletter! This newsletter is here to serve the Amateur Radio community in our area. I welcome and encourage all submissions. Please help make this your newsletter! I especially encourage officers of the area's Amateur Radio clubs to submit their meeting announcements, guest speakers and special events. Meetings are held at the New York Hall of Science Museum cafeteria, 47-01 111th Street, Flushing Meadow, Corona Park, Queens NY. Please enter the cafeteria through the back science playground behind the museum. Special Guest speaker will be Gordon West WB6NOA. Gordo will be talking about the new portable HF radios and will bring down the new Yaesu FT-897 and the FT-817.He will be also bring down hand outs and prizes. Julianne was born on January 5, 2003 at 6:53 am, weighing 8 pounds. Phyllis and daughter are reportedly doing fine and should be home from the hospital soon. Julianne looks a bit like her daddy with her beautiful red hair. Best wishes to the Robinsons and their new daughter! Ham Radio 2003 is Sunday, January 19, at East Woods School in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Please join us for a day of technical education for Amateur Radio.
