Floyd Davis WA2SDI, sk. This information is from John Smale
K2IZ: This to me when I was SCM was always the hard job,
reporting a silent key. This one is made harder by the fact I knew
Floyd for almost 30 years. My XYL took the call this afternoon
that Floyd Davis WA2SDI had passed away.. I always noticed
Floyd wore a hearing aide but when he put the "cans" on, he
was an outstanding CW operator. I remember Field Day one
year, Floyd was sitting at another position near me and he asked
me if it was ok to work Hungary during Field Day. I told him I
didn't care as long as we got an exchange that counted towards
the point total. He was a good man and I shall miss him.
Thanks and 73, John Smale K2IZ

Help Save Our Frequencies!
The Amateur Radio Spectrum Protection Act of 2003 has been
introduced in the US House of Representatives. The measure is an
ARRL legislative initiative. Florida Rep Michael Bilirakis filed the
latest version of the bill, HR 713, on February 12. It has been
referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
HR 713 is aimed at ensuring the availability of spectrum to Amateur
Radio operators. It would protect existing Amateur Radio spectrum
against reallocations to or sharing with other services unless the
FCC provides ''equivalent replacement spectrum'' elsewhere.
The previous version of the Spectrum Protection Act attracted more
than 50 cosponsors. An effort will be made to encourage additional
House members to sign onto HR 713 as cosponsors. Additional details
are on the ARRL Web site. You can locate your Congressional
Representative at www.house.gov  Send a QSL card or letter that
identifies you as a ham and that you support HR 713.
