NJ AMATEUR RADIO LICENSE PLATE INFO

Here are some hints to obtain your NJ Ham Radio license plates.

You must call the DMV Special License Plates number: 609-292-6500.

Ask for form ISM/SPU-43 Amateur Radio Plate Application. The forms ARE NOT available at local DMV offices.

When applying be sure to include all the necessary document as well as the $15 Fee:

• copy of your NJ Vehicle Registration
• copy of your FCC License (both sides)
• if you have a leased vehicle; copy of lease agreement 

The DMV may still be sending out old forms. If you get one cross off the $10 fee schedule and write in the new $15 fee schedule. 

Be patient! Some NJ hams have gotten their plates in 10 days others, months!
